The presentation will highlight the economic value of the music industry, showing how it impacts various sectors. It will cover the financial contributions from live performances, music production, and distribution, emphasizing the significant revenue generated.

The presentation will also explore how technology, including artificial intelligence, enhances productivity and creates new opportunities within the industry. Additionally, it will discuss the importance of copyright laws and the economic effects of intellectual property rights. By examining market dynamics both nationally and globally, the presentation aims to provide a clear understanding of the music industry’s economic value and its potential for future growth.

Dr. Janez Dolšak

Janez Dolšak is a Professor of Economics at the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana, specializing in microeconomics, applied economics, and industrial organization. His research spans regulation, competition policy, and sectoral analysis in energy, transport, and telecommunications, with recent work on the economics of music organizations. He has published in journals such as Energy Economics and Applied Economic Analysis, and has been recognized by the World Federation of Scientists and the World Energy Council. He also advises public and private entities and consults for Cornerstone Research.
